I'm not always the best at listening to sermons. It reminds me of attending classes in school. I can't focus. And yet, this sermon is about focus! But, Pastor Todd wasn't talking about that. He was talking about focus in our life journey.
Honestly, this year, I have no resolution. Besides "focusing" on this blog, to blog something once a day, I have no real set goals to do anything. Except maybe just be a better person than last year and improve on my fitness.
However from that sermon since Sunday, I realize I have a spiritual "hole" (if you will) that needs to be filled some more. Not that I have fell off the bandwagon entirely. I realize there are many things in my life I need to pray about. It seems to be fitting to say I should make it my focus to pray more. I know in Scripture, it tells us to pray continuously, without ceasing:
"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." ~1 Thessalonians 5:16-18~
You might think if I'm a Christian, I should pray. And I do pray. Sometimes. But to pray continually, like this verse says, I haven't been praying continually in a long time. As this verse says, this (prayer) is God's will for us in Christ.
