For many years, a lot people have kept science and religion separate. There are the few scientists that felt the two should co-exist or that God has given science to man to discover His infinite beauty in nature and the universe.
Although Eistein's view of God may not be of a personal God, this quote kind of confirms that there is a spiritual law in the cosmic world:
"Science without religion is lame,
Religion without science is blind..."
The space-time continuum is a mathematical model taken from Albert Eistein's theory of relativity. (Funny how I used Eistein to build up to this.) The theory states that space and time should be consider together and in relation to one another if talking about the cosmos and the universe.
For example, we see a star that we think is 1 light-year away but because of the bending and twisting of space and time, it might really be half a light years away, or possibly 5 light years away.
How can this be? I think I can say that most humans cannot fathom this.
If the bending and twisting of the space-time continuum can really be proven or truly understood, what does that mean to the timing of things in the Bible? I believe the one few things this can relate to is the second coming of Jesus.
I believe that earth itself is in a time bubble. In the most Euclidean way, we see time as a separate function and dimension, separate from space (3-D). We move through time in a forward motion without having any ability to go backwards or speed things up. Time is viewed at a constant speed for us.
If God is the creator of this universe and He is in everything, Jesus can most certainly moves through space-time in any speed He wishes. In essence, Jesus Christ ascended to heaven... space-time. In space-time, He can move forward, backwards, side-ways. His inevitable return is going to be here as if He has not really left.
2 Peter 3 really sums it up for us of the last days of earth. As verse 8 says, "But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day."
Just think about it. Jesus is really traveling through space-time. I wonder what other alien forms He has encountered. Or what alien lifeforms that God has created with a similar story of salvation? Far-fetched? Josey is looney? Possibly...
(Originally, I had planned to write about evolution but this seems more fitting to blog about. Evolution is a non-essential topic but the second coming of Christ is definitely an essential topic to discuss.)
